Well, the cosplay was a success. More or less. :-) I won the popular vote, so I can go to VIECC (Vienna Con) with the tickets, but I realized just how little i can move in it. I couldn't go up the steps to the stage and had to stay on the ground. Stairs weren't the only problem. The organizers promised me beforehand that I could move around, because all the doorways were wide, double doors - but in fact all those had one half closed and locked, so I had to fit myself through those small spaces and every doorframe broke something off of my armor. Ohh, and they lost my music and I had to wait nearly a minute in front of the audience while they found it and started to play. You know how embarrassing that is? Other cosplayers had this problem too, so it wasn't just me.

But all in all, I enjoyed it. There was another LTL costume (a warhammer one) and I learned a lot about how it was done professionally. Not from cardboard, that's for sure! :-)

Your costume came out great, congratulations on that win! :D

One of the things I really love about the cosplay community is how willing they are to share tips with each other, whether we're in the same fandoms or not. It's so cool to see everyone valuing fun and good rigs over making sure they look the best.

Can't wait to see what Megatron mk 2 will look like! :D

It's true, everyone cosplaying was just so open and helpful and we talked a lot about how to do things, materials, methods, tricks, everything... and I really enjoyed it. Even though it was a competition, it was super friendly all round.

I am remaking this costume now for VIECC, it's not enough time for a completely new one. But I already have another idea, for another cosplay... arghh... it's contagious! I just wanted to make ONE!... I'm lost... help! :-)))

oh man, I know the addiction! I've got 1 in my closet that's mostly finished (A Pokemon trainer who specializes in ghost pokemon) and just needs a few accessories, and 1 that needs a bit of modification to fit better and a more canon accurate jacket (Wonder Woman, but the costume where she wore jeans and a leather jacket) and I'm planning a Frozen one and a humanized MLP!
